This exercise focuses on practicing the Sizing and Analysis methods available in HyperX. It covers various aspects of Rapid Sizing, Detailed Sizing, and performing Analysis on an aerospace structure, particularly the upper skin of a commercial wing. In the Rapid Sizing section, different design concepts like metal plates, composite laminates, and stiffened panels are applied to quickly assess their performance and determine the most suitable option for the upper skin. These Design Properties are already pre-defined, and the user iterates through multiple panel concepts to evaluate their efficiency.
The Detailed Sizing part dives deeper, focusing on applying composite hat-stiffened Design Properties, generating and selecting Effective Laminates for both the skin and stiffener, and refining dimensions with specific min, max, and step parameters. The Analysis section follows, where the Sizing Results are pushed to Analysis Overrides, and further analysis is conducted to validate the design. This step-by-step approach ensures that both Rapid and Detailed Sizing methods are thoroughly explored, along with the proper analysis required to assess the structural integrity of the chosen Design Properties.
Repeat With Other Design Properties
Objective is to quickly determine which panel concept is optimum for the upper skin of the wing. Repeat the Design Property assignment -> Sizing for the following Rapid Sizing concepts:

Note
The Analysis Property contains all of the relevant Failure Modes for all concepts being used (to simplify the exercise).
Rerun Sizing on a SUBSET of the Upper Skin
Detailed Sizing takes a considerably longer time than Rapid Sizing so we won't Size the whole wing. Select a few Zones anywhere along the wing and re-Size.
