Set the types of analyses to execute. Analysis criteria can be individually toggled on/off, providing flexibility and visibility of their assignment on the FEM. Read more on how Analysis Properties are used in the Analysis Workflow here.
An Analysis Property is a collection of Failure Modes. When assigned to a Zone or Joint, they define the analysis criteria used to write margins of safety for that Zone/Joint. Analysis Properties are stored and managed in the 'Analyses' node of the Property Tree. An example Analysis Property applicable to a sandwich panel design is shown below.

Analysis Properties are stored in the Database and therefore can be shared by multiple Projects in the Database (see Sharing Properties Between Projects), saved as part of Database Templates, and passed between Databases.

Analysis Properties contain Failure Modes, which are used to define the appropriate failure criteria to be applied to prescribed Zones/Joints.

Analysis Properties are assigned to Zones and Joints. The selected Zones/Joints then inherit all Failure Modes contained in that Analysis Property. This defines how that Zone/Joint will be evaluated during Analysis/Sizing.

One Analysis Property can be assigned to as many Zones/Joints as applicable, as long as the Zone/Joint type is consistent with the Analysis Property type (i.e. a 2D Plate Analysis Property cannot be assigned to a 1D beam Zone).

One Zone/Joint can only have a single Analysis Property assigned.

There are three types of Analysis Properties, based on the Zone/Joint types to which they are applicable:

Within each type, there are several unique Failure Modes, the attributes of which shape how the Analysis Property is defined.
There are three types of Analysis Properties.
Panel
A Panel Analysis Property collects the Failure Mode selection required to define the failure criteria assessed for 2-dimensional Zones (made up of shell elements).
Important
A Panel Analysis Property must be assigned to a 2D Zone before it can be Analyzed or Sized.
An example metal Panel Analysis Property is shown in the image below.
There are several different Panel Analysis Properties that can be automatically created (see Create Analysis Property). These are based on the possible Panel Design Property concepts and the corresponding failure criteria that are typically applied to Zones of that definition. These concepts are listed below rise-up menu.
Additionally, the following Failure Mode categories are applicable to Panel Analysis Properties:

Temperature
Beam
A Beam Analysis Property collects the Failure Mode selection required to define the failure criteria assessed for 1-dimensional Zones (made up of bar elements).
Important
A Beam Analysis Property must be assigned to a 1D Zone before it can be Analyzed or Sized.
An example Beam Analysis Property is shown in the image below.
The following Failure Mode categories are applicable to beam analysis properties:
Joints
A Joint Analysis Property collects the Failure Mode selection required to define the failure criteria assessed for Joints.
Important
A Joint Analysis Property must be assigned to a Joint before it can be Analyzed or Sized.
An example Fastened Joint Analysis Property is shown in the image below.
There are several different Joint Analysis Properties that can be automatically created (see Create Analysis Property). These are based on the possible Joint Design Property concepts and the corresponding failure criteria that are typically applied to joints of that definition. These concepts are listed below rise-up menu.
Additionally, the following Failure Mode categories are applicable to Joint Analysis Properties:
A collection of related analysis methods, their state, and their respective factors and settings. They are associated with a specific category of criteria.

Creating an Analysis Property involves choosing a selection of Failure Modes to belong to that Property. This process can be done manually from both the Property Tree and the Analysis tab of the Ribbon. There is also an option to automatically create an Analysis Property with pre-defined Failure Modes and settings (based on popular industry standard). This option can be launched for each Analysis Property type from the Ribbon.
Note
For each type of Analysis Property, the Failure Modes may vary, but the overall creation process remains the same.
Option #1: From the Property Tree
Manual Analysis Property creation can be initiated from the right-click menu of the Property Tree.

Right-click on the 'Analyses' node of the Property Tree. Use the resulting menu to select which type of Analysis Property to create.

Name the Analysis Property.

Create or Select all Failure Modes to be included in the Analysis Property. Recall that these are the criteria that will be assessed for each Zone assigned this Analysis Property.

Click 'Apply' to save the current set-up and save this Property to the Database. The newly created Property will now have its own node within the Analyses category of the Property Tree.
Option #2: From the Ribbon - Manual
The same manual creation operation can also be launched from the Analysis tab of the Ribbon.

Navigate to the Analysis tab of the Ribbon and select the 'Create Analysis Property' icon. Use the resulting menu to select which type of Analysis Property to create.

Name the Analysis Property.

Create or Select all Failure Modes to be included in the Analysis Property. Recall that these are the criteria that will be assessed for each Zone assigned this Analysis Property.

Click 'Apply' to save the current set-up and save this Property to the Database. The newly created Property will now have its own node within the Analyses category of the Property Tree.
Option #3: From the Ribbon - Auto

Navigate to the Analysis tab of the Ribbon and select the 'Auto Create Analysis Property' icon corresponding to the desired Property type (Panel, Beam, or Joint).

Name the Analysis Property.

Notice various Failure Modes have already been defined and applied by default.
However, if desired, the user can create or select any additional Failure Modes to be included in the Analysis Property. Recall that these are the criteria that will be assessed for each Zone assigned this Analysis Property.

Click 'Apply' to save the current set-up and save this Property to the Database. The newly created Property will now have its own node within the Analyses category of the Property Tree.

An Analysis Property must be assigned to a Zone in order for that Zone to inherit the prescribed failure criteria and corresponding analysis settings.
No matter which option is used, Analysis Property assignment can be verified by clicking on the Analysis Property of interest in the Property Tree. All Zones that have been assigned the selected Analysis Property will be indicated in the Viewport.
Each Analysis Property has a corresponding node in the Property Tree, organized by type. Using these nodes, there are several different property assignment mechanisms:

Right-Click Method

Select relevant Zones in the Viewport.

Navigate to the node of the desired Analysis Property on the Property Tree.

Right Click > Select 'Apply to Visible Selection'.

Click and Drag to Viewport

(Optional) Select desired Zones in the Viewport

Navigate to the desired Analysis Property on the Property Tree.

Click and drag the Analysis Property over the Viewport.

If (1) was complete, the Analysis Property can be 'dropped' on the entire selection for assignment.

If not, individual Zones can be selected by hovering over them in the Viewport.

When hovered over the correct selection, let go of the mouse-click. The selection indicator will go from pink to green to indicate the Analysis Property assignment has succeeded.

Click and Drag to Structure Tree

Navigate to the desire Analysis Property on the Property Tree.

Click and drag the Analysis Property over the Structure Tree.

As the mouse is hovered over specific Zones or Structures, these will be highlighted in the Viewport for visual verification. Let go of the mouse-click when the desired Zones or Structures are selected. The selection indicator will go from pink to green to indicate the property assignment has succeeded.

An Analysis Property can be deleted directly from the corresponding node on the Property Tree.
Important
An Analysis Property cannot be deleted if it is assigned to a Zone or Joint. In order to delete a Analysis Property, it must be completely disassociated from all Zones/Joints in the Database.

Locate the desired Analysis Property to delete on the Property Tree.

Right-click on the corresponding node and select 'Delete'.
