By leveraging HyperX’s Batch Run capabilities and HyperXpert, you can rapidly run design of experiments on selected Structures and Sets.
HyperXpert can only be run on a selection of consecutive Zones - i.e. a part surface. So, prior to running this tool, make sure to have all Zones in the part surface organized into a Structure and/or Set.
Navigate to the Run tab of the Ribbon and click the Batch Runs button. Select 'HyperXpert' from the pop-up menu.
The "Batch Runner Form" is used to define one or more Runs. Each of the defined Runs will be performed in sequence.
To begin, press the "Add Run" button.
Once a Run has been added, set the inputs that you want to use for DOE. They are described below:

Run Set - The name for this Run Set.
Important
Must be unique. If there is another Run Set with the same name, you will not be able to save the form or perform this Run. Go to Property Tree > Library > Run Sets to see (and potentially delete) existing Run Sets to avoid naming conflicts.

Structure or Set - Select whether this row will represent a Structure or Set.

Structure/Set - Select the Structure or Set, depending on the previous selection, that you'd like to include in this Run Set.

Design Property - Select a Design Property to assign to the selected Structure/Set for this Run.
Important
Design Properties must be set to Detailed Sizing Mode.

Analysis Property - Select an Analysis Property to assign to the selected Structure/Set for this Run.

Load Property - Select a Load Property to assign to the selected Structure/Set for this Run.

Ribs - Optional. Add metadata about this Structure/Set's ribs to the Run Set.

Spars - Optional. Add metadata about this Structure/Set's spars to the Run Set.

HyperFEA Iterations - Optional. Specify a number of HyperFEA iterations to complete on these inputs before running the DOE. As of HyperX version 2026.1.13, you can access additional HyperFEA settings and open the HyperFEA form using the icons within the field.

Weight (lbm) - This is an output field. After the Run has been completed, this will show the weight of the Structure/Set after Sizing.
As you enter values into these fields, you can save your progress by clicking "Apply". If a required field has an invalid input, the form will not save and that field will be highlighted in red. You can hover over that highlight for more information on the error.
As of HyperX version 2026.1.13, there are additional settings available:

Limit Design Space - When toggled on, thickness variables will not be counted as constant variables. This decreases both the run time and the number of points collected - but in a logical way - as variables like stiffener spacing, height, etc. (which are still counted in this paradigm) are typically more influential with respect to producibility.

HyperX Run Settings - This button opens a form where you can select to use the Standard or Solver Sizing/Analysis Engine. For Batch Runs like these, you can run them with the Solver Engine remotely on an HPC server.

Reset HyperFEA Before Iterating - HyperFEA Iteration history for a Project is stored between Runs. To restart from scratch for each Run, check the "Reset before iterating" option. This will clear the iteration history and set the Run Deck results file back to the source file. HyperX Sizing results are not modified.
When every field input is validated, you can save the form by pressing "Apply".
You can also add rows to Runs so you can include more than one Structure/Set per Run. To do this, either right-click on a Run and select "Add structure/set row" from the dropdown or click the add row button below the last row in the Run.
Once added, you can designate another Structure or Set to include with this Run Set.
Tip
When you have multiple Structure/Set rows for a Run, you can insert or delete a row in the list using "Insert structure/set row" and "Remove structure/set row" from the right-click menu.
While you could press "Run" at this stage, the advantage of the Batch Runner is that you can define multiple Runs to process together.
Note
Each Run that you add will be processed sequentially when you press the "Run" button. The settings applied to the model on the last Run in the sequence will remain once all Runs are complete
In addition to adding Runs in the way shown in Step 2, you can duplicate a Run by right-clicking on it and selecting "Duplicate batch run" from the dropdown.
Similarly, you can delete a Run you've added by right-clicking on it and selecting "Remove batch run" from the dropdown.
As you add more Runs, you may want to reorder them so that they are performed in a different sequence. You can move a Run up or down by clicking on the Run to highlight it and then clicking one of the arrow buttons at the top of the form.
Let's add another Run so we can compare different Design Properties on the lower skin.
When all of your inputs and settings are ready, press the "Run" button at the bottom of the form.

Recall that each Run that you add will be processed sequentially when you press the "Run" button. The settings applied to the model on the last Run in the sequence will remain once all Runs are complete.
As each Run is processed:

The defined inputs will be applied to the selected Structure(s)/Set(s).

Those Structure(s)/Set(s) will be sized in HyperXpert mode.

A Run Set is created using the results and saved to the Library.

The weight column will be updated with the results of the Run.

As of HyperX version 2026.1.13, the Status field will update throughout the run to show progress. A full log can be viewed by double-clicking the Status cell.
When the Runs are complete, press the "Plot..." button at the top of the page to open the HyperXpert Viewer.
There you can add the Run Sets to the plot and view your results.
By adding more data to your Run Sets and utilizing the tools available in the HyperXpert Viewer, you can produce more detailed plots. That detail can help you design more producible parts by reducing design variation in your model.
