The database library, found in the bottom half of the Property Tree, contains properties and anything that can be referenced by a property.
The database library includes:
The following are also listed in the library section of the property tree, and operate similarly, but are explained in their own sections.
-
Composite Stacks (Effective Laminates, Laminates, Laminate Families)
-
Properties (Design Properties, Load Properties, Analysis Properties)
Everything in the database library shares the following basic principles:
-
They are database-level entities, and can therefore be shared between projects in the same database, saved as part of a database template, and imported/exported between databases
-
Only properties can be directly assigned to zones and joints. All other library items are referenced by those assigned properties
-
These reference entities serve as inputs to the stress analysis HyperX performs to write margins (think stiffnesses, allowables, failure method toggles, etc.)
-
They are arranged in the Property Tree - and can therefore be interacted with by double and right-clicking their corresponding tree nodes
-
All management operations can be performed from the corresponding entity library page, opened from the Property Tree
All library entities can be managed - i.e. created, edited, deleted, imported, and exported, from their respective library forms. These library forms can be opened from the Property Tree (double-clicking or right-clicking a particular node) or from the Ribbon. The example image below highlights this, using the Rivet Library as an example.
Each library entity has its own page in this section, which outlines the specifics of operations such as creating, editing, and deleting.
