Before downloading and installing HyperX:
-
Ensure that the device you are installing on meets the minimum System Requirements.
-
Confirm that you have a valid HyperX license and/or properly set up License Server.
There are two ways to download the HyperX installer: from the downloads site or via emailed link.
Once downloaded, navigate to the location of the installer and double-click to run the program.
Important
If you wish to install HyperX for all the users on a particular device, you must run the installer as administrator.
To successfully install HyperX:
-
Verify you are installing the correct version on the landing page and click "Next" to begin.
-
Read and accept the License Agreement. Click "Next" to continue.
-
Select/confirm the install location and click "Next" to continue.
-
On the "Custom Setup" page, you can choose which additional features.
The optional features are:
-
Dashboard - The HyperX Dashboard allows user to upload snapshots of HyperX results to local or cloud-based servers for reporting and collaboration.
-
Python Environment - This option automatically installs Python and the HyperX Python Scripting API Wrapper. The Scripting API Python wrapper exposes features of the API to your scripting environment and simplifies common procedures to make it easier to write HyperX Scripts.
Note
This install is not necessary if you already have Python installed and you can still install the Python wrapper without selecting this option.
-
-
Finally, select whether you want to install HyperX for just the current user or all users of this device (requires Administrator privileges and to be running this program as the Administrator). Select the desired option and click "Install". When HyperX is done installing, the installer will automatically close.
To begin using HyperX, you must first set up the license. If you are going to use a License Server, you can find instructions for that here.
If you are using a license file:
-
Run HyperX. After it loads, click the cog button in the lower left of the popup to open "Application Settings".
-
Confirm the location of the license file. The license file is a .txt file that's usually found in "C:/HyperX/Projects/Temp".
-
Next, select which version of the Help Center to use. Throughout HyperX, various forms and tools will link to their corresponding pages in the Help Center (this is called Context Sensitive Help or CSH). This option determines whether those links will take you to the Help Center website or a locally stored copy of the Help Center.
-
Online - CSH links will go to pages on the online HyperX Help Center (https://support.collieraerospace.com). This is recommended for most users.
-
Local - CSH links go to pages in the local version of the HyperX Help Center included with the install. This is recommended for users working in secured, offline environments.
-
-
Finally, click "Apply" to confirm the settings and begin using HyperX.
