Design Load Case Filtering involves implementing Design Load Case Overrides. When filtering is enabled, HyperX will automatically populate the Included Design Loads Case Table to include the most critical cases for each Zone. These are the cases that will be run for each Zone in the next Sizing/Analysis.
In general, Load Case Filtering can be enabled before any Analysis or Sizing pre-processing steps have been taken. However, the generation of a Critical Load Case list is dependent on running an initial Analysis of the entire Project. Therefore, be sure to that each Zone of interest:

Has been organized into a Structure.

Has been assigned a Design Property set to Detailed Sizing Mode.

Has been assigned a Load Property.
-
Has been assigned an Analysis Property.

This step is critical - as multiple criteria for identifying hits depends on the margin calculations generated by each Design Load Case.
The ability to enable Load Case Filtering exists in the Included Overrides Section of the Design Load Overrides table. The appropriate flag is indicated in the image below.
This flag essentially tells HyperX to - in the next Sizing/Analysis - use the metrics defined in the Settings form to identify the critical Design Load Cases for each Zone and populate the included Design Loads table accordingly.
Although the metrics outlined in the Design Loads Settings form default to generally recommended values/options, this is also the step to review those options to make sure all filtering metrics are set appropriately. See the section below.
Note
If you are running Sizing/Analysis with filtered Design Load Cases active, they will not be used if you use a Filtered (Peak Element) Load Property. When the "automatically update" mode is toggled, running peak loads is ok. However, the application of these filtered cases does not work with peak loads.
Design Load Cases can only be deemed 'critical' if they fit a peak load metric or generate a critical margin of safety for a given Zone/Joint. Therefore, the only way to identify the critical case list is to run an initial Analysis or Sizing pass on the Project or Structure in question. By nature, Analysis is the quicker of the two.
Make sure all Zones are set to Analysis - or have Analysis Overrides - in their respective Design Properties. One particularly convenient option is to Analyze the As Modeled Design (i.e. import the existing property definitions in your FEM as Design Properties and run a margin assessment).
As the Sizing/Analysis runs, the Design Load Cases that generate the most 'hits' for each Zone will automatically populate the Included Design Loads table.
Activate the following flag to enable HyperX to use the Included Design Loads table generated in the previous step in subsequent Sizing runs. Resize the Project or Structure that was Analyzed during the previous step.
Note
The Design Load Case Filter will apply each time the Project is Sized again.
