After CAD Entities have been created or imported, HyperX features various utilities to modify them.
Tip
You can control the size, transparency, and fidelity of CAD Entities in Viewport Settings.
CAD Entities can be found in the CAD Tree where they can also be organized into folders. Their name and appearance can be edited from the CAD Tree or the Viewport from the right-click menu.
Tip
You can control the rendering detail of CAD Entities to improve fidelity or application performance by using the "CAD Render Fidelity" slider in Viewport Settings.
CAD Entities can be split into new Entities at the location of a selected Plane using the Split tool. Open the Split tool using the "Modify CAD Entities" button on the Model tab of the Ribbon.
You can split Surfaces and Breps. To do that:

Select the Surface/Brep that you want to split.

Select a Plane that intersects that entity.

By default, the tool will only create a new Entity on one side of the split. You can switch which side of the split to retain with the arrows button. Optionally, check "Geometry from both sides" to generate an Entity for both sides.

Click "Apply" to create the split Entity.

Original Entities are not changed when split but they will be hidden from the Viewport.
Cross-sections of CAD Entities can be generated by using the Intersect tool. Open the Intersect tool using the "Modify CAD Entities" button on the Model tab of the Ribbon.
You can intersect Surfaces and Breps. To do that:

Select the Surface/Brep whose cross-section you want to isolate.

Select a Plane that intersects that entity.

By default, this tool outputs many Curves where each representing one segment of the intersection. If you check "One curve per intersection", those Curves will be combined into a single Curve representing the entire intersection.

Original Entities are not changed during this process, but they will be hidden from the Viewport.
CAD Entities are often made up of "Child Geometry" that are not represented as unique entities (i.e. do not appear in the CAD Tree) when imported into HyperX. Some examples would be:

End points on a Curve

Edges on a Surface or Solid

Vertices on a Solid
It can be useful to Extract the Child Geometry to perform subsequent operations, such as generating a Curve on a face of a Solid. The Extract tool retrieves the selected Child Geometry and creates a copy of it which is stored as a standalone CAD Entity (and appears in the CAD Tree).
Open the Extract tool using the "Modify CAD Entities" button on the Model tab of the Ribbon.
When the form is open, you will notice that the shape of your cursor will change; HyperX automatically switched to the "Sub-Solid" selection mode. This allows faces, edges, and vertices to extracted from Surface or Solid CAD Entities. To extract from Curves, switch to the "Sub-Curve" selection mode.
Clicking on a section of Child Geometry will add it to the form and change the color of the highlight.
Once selected, press "Apply" to save a copy of the Child Geometry as a new HyperX Entity.
Note
If CAD Entities are shown/hidden while the form is open, press the refresh button to re-sync the tool with visible entities.
CAD Entities can be merged together into "Composite" entities using the Merge tool. You can find this button on the Model tab of the Ribbon.
You can merge Curves or Surfaces. To use the tool:

Select the type of Entity to merge.

Then select the Entities that you want to merge.

Click "Apply" to create a new Composite Entity where the selected Entities are combined.
