The HyperX Viewport offers a model-centric workspace upon which to set up Sizing/Analysis and view results. The following sections outline the various Viewport controls that should be used to facilitate software interaction.
Keyboard and Mouse Controls
The vast majority of all Viewport functions are driven by either the mouse or the keyboard, or some combination thereof.

Pan - To move the model left/right/up/down, Ctrl + middle mouse button press, drag.

Rotate - To rotate the model about a fixed point, middle mouse button press, drag the position of the mouse cursor when pressing the middle mouse button defines the center of rotation.

Zoom - To zoom in or out, scroll the mouse wheel up/down OR Shift + middle mouse button press, drag (up/down) the position of the mouse cursor determines the zoom center.
Note
For all actions: release the middle mouse button to stop the manipulation.
Hotkeys
Several hotkeys have been programmed into HyperX to allow users to reach certain model orientations and windows quickly.

Ctrl + F - Zoom-fit the entire model (i.e. not just what is shown).

Ctrl + T (threshold) + Mouse wheel up/down - Increases / decreases the threshold (min 0°, max 90°) for feature selection.

Panels - The maximum angle between element normal vectors of adjacent shell elements.
-
Beams - The maximum angle between element tangent vectors adjacent elements.

R (rotate) + Middle Mouse Button press + mouse move - Performs in-plane rotation (same as current view plane) of the model.

Ctrl + A (all) - Selects all visible Zones and Joints in the Viewport.

Ctrl + E (entity) - Opens the "How" selection radial menu.
-
Ctrl + Q - Launches the "search" function.
-
Ctrl+I - Show Only the selected elements.
-
Ctrl+R - Reverse visible/hidden elements.
View Cube
Like other model-centric software products, HyperX offers a View Cube in the top-right corner of the Viewport to offer enhanced model positioning options. Of note:

Left-clicking on edges, corners, or faces of the View Cube centers the model and positions it in the corresponding to the selected perspective.

Left mouse button press on the View Cube + drag rotates the model about the Viewport center.
-
Left mouse button press on the ring + drag rotates the model in this plane about the Viewport center.
Clipping Plane
The Clipping Plane slices through the model and hides everything on the +Z side of the plane, making it useful to quickly view the interior of a model. Every single type of model entity will be cut by the Clipping Plane, including all element types, plies, core, etc.
Toggle the Clipping Plane on from the View tab of the main Ribbon.
The position of the Clipping Plane can be modified by clicking and dragging the coordinate axes that appear when the Clipping Plane is activated.

Free-form positioning - Click and drag the sphere at the origin of the coordinate axes to freely move it anywhere in the model.

Slide along axis - Click and drag the individual axes to move the Clipping Plane only in that direction.

Rotate - Click and drag the curved bars to rotate the Clipping Plane about the corresponding color-coded axis.
Touchpad Controls
Touchpad mode can be enabled on the View tab of the Ribbon. This mode offers slightly different controls for panning, rotating, and zooming that are likely more accessible on touchpad devices.

Pan - To move the model left/right/up/down, Ctrl + Alt + left mouse push, drag.

Rotate - To rotate the model about a fixed point, Alt + left mouse push, drag the position of the mouse cursor when pressing the middle mouse button defines the center of rotation.

Zoom - To zoom in or out, pinch or Shift + two finger swipe up/down the position of the mouse cursor determines the zoom center.
On the 'Appearance' section of the View tab of the Ribbon, there are several different selections that alter the model appearance in the Viewport.
Transparency
Transparency opens a form with a slider to set the opacity of the colors of the model. Full transparency renders the model as a wireframe.

Ambient Occlusion
Only effective if shading is enabled. Toggles between rendering the scene with and without ambient occlusion. Ambient occlusion changes the shading on the model based on its calculated exposure to ambient lighting.

Shadow
Only effective if shading is enabled. Toggles between rendering the scene with and without shadows cast by the model.

There are three primary factors that define the color of objects in the Viewport.
Selection
Any entities that are actively selected will be colored gold as shown below. Additionally, some forms that provide tabular summaries of Zones such as the Watch Window and Zone Overrides Table use a secondary selection color (cyan) to indicate which Zone within the current selection has been highlighted in the table.
Entity Color Mode
Most of the entities in the Viewport that have geometry (1D or 2D) also have a color associated with them. This color is indicated next to the entity in the Trees.
The color mode can be set from the "Appearance" group of the View tab on the Ribbon. This will color elements by the selected entity type. For example, if the color mode was set to "Structure," then all Zones in the Structure will be colored with the Structure color.
Note
Some of the color modes, such as "Beam," will un-color entities that are not of this type.
A Custom View is a particular Viewport configuration - including model orientation, zoom level, and plotted Legend data. HyperX is able to save these views for later use, which is particularly useful for supplementing Stress Reports with uniform screenshots of model data. This action, as well as recalling saved Custom Views, is managed through the Custom View Manager.
The Custom View Manager is launched from the 'View' tab of the Ribbon.
Create a new Custom View
To create a Custom View:

Set up the Viewport to reflect the view you'd like to save. This includes:

Model Orientation

Zoom Level
-
Plotting Legend Data (if desired)

Open the Custom View Manager from the 'View' tab of the Ribbon.

Click the green plus button to save the current Viewport settings.

Name the Custom View and provide any necessary notes in the space provided.

Click 'Apply' to save the Custom View.
Enable an Existing Custom View
To re-orient your Viewport to a particular Custom View:

Open the Custom View Manager from the 'View' tab of the Ribbon.

Click on the desired Custom View.
Managing Custom Views
Custom Views can also be edited and deleted using the corresponding buttons at the top of the Custom View Manager form.
This setting controls the numbers of facets (straight edges) that are used to render any curve or curved surface. It is an application-level setting (applies to any Database and Project that is opened).
To access this setting, go to Viewport Settings on the View tab of the Ribbon.
Locate the "CAD Render Fidelity" slider.

Slider to the left is lower fidelity -> fewer facets. Curved entities will have noticeable jaggedness, but Viewport performance will be better.

Slider to the right is higher fidelity -> more facets. Curved entities will be smoother, but viewport performance will be slower (loading models, toggling visibility, etc).
The following image shows the same CAD Entity with the slider at the lowest, medium, and highest fidelity from left to right.
In addition to the settings summarized above, there are also a multitude of additional model and Viewport options that can be adjusted in the Viewport Settings window - located on the far left of the View tab of the Ribbon.
