Objective: to override Design Property variable definitions with user-defined values for specified Zones using the Sizing Input Overrides form.
In some cases, the optimum sizing result output by HyperX for a given Zone is not considered a workable solution depending on user preference, manufacturing considerations, and the like. In the example below, the optimum core height is plotted for each sandwich panel of a wing skin.
Though it is the minimum weight solution, the user is not likely to manufacture sandwich panels with such disparity in height across the wingspan. Instead, perhaps a gradual taper in core height from root to tip should be applied - as outlined below.
Rather than creating three additional design properties (one for each section), assigning them accordingly, and then re-sizing the entire model, the Sizing Overrides Table can be used to fix the core heights of each selected panel to their respective section height all at once - while still allowing the facesheet variables to size accordingly.

Sizing overrides are only accessible to Zones that have been assigned a Design Property

The Design Property must be set to Sizing. This override option will only be taken into account during a Sizing execution, not Analysis.
The Dimension Overrides Table is made up of rows corresponding to each selected Zone and columns corresponding to each Sizing Variable available to be overridden. The dimensions that can be overridden are based on the Design Property assigned to selected Zones. Each cell should be populated with its desired dimension value. To force a set value, both the minimum and maximum bounds must be set for each Zone. Click 'Apply' to save the prescribed Overrides.
The image below, corresponding to the core height example, shows the Dimension Overrides required to enforce a set core height to Section #1.
Tip
This table works very much like Microsoft Excel - so several different Excel-specific formulas and functionality can be employed to populate this table accordingly.
Any saved Sizing Overrides will be indicated on the Design Property assigned to the afflicted Zones. The "Overridden Dimension" and "# Candidate" boxes will be highlighted in green. Also note that the Sizing Overrides table can now be accessed from the Design Property form for review by clicking the green "Overrides" button.
A Sizing routine must be run on the selected Zones in order to implement the Overridden Dimensions.

Select all Zones with Overridden Dimensions.

Click 'Size'.
Important
During this run, only the dimensions explicitly specified in the table will be overridden. All other variables will Size according to the bounds prescribed by the Design Property. So, in the core height example, the top and bottom facesheets are still able to size as needed, while the core heights are locked to their newly prescribed dimension.
The Overridden Dimensions can be shown directly on the model using the Legend. Continuing with the tapered core height example, see the resulting core height per Zone plot below.
