Sizing can be performed on either a Zone-basis or an Element-basis (for applicable concepts). For Zone-based Sizing, HyperX offers 2 sizing modes: (1) Rapid Sizing and (2) Detailed Sizing. The selection between each mode dictates the optimization methodology used by the software to size designs for the prescribed failure criteria and manufacturing constraints.
The Sizing scheme is selected on the Design Property. For concepts that are supported for element optimization, the first step is to use the dropdown to select between Zone and element Sizing - as indicated by the yellow box in the example. If Zone-based Sizing is selected, the user can select between Rapid and Detailed sizing modes - as shown by the red box in the example image below. These modes differ in both requirements for operation and optimization strategy which are described in each of the sections below.
Tip
Because the Sizing configuration is defined on the Design Property, it is therefore applied to all Zones or Elements (depending on drop-box selection) which reference that design.
